St John's Timberhill is the main Anglican Church of the Catholic tradition in the heart of Norwich.  We are a Church of England church in the Diocese of Norwich.  We are a Church Family of all ages and backgrounds, and we seek to offer uplifting worship, support and friendship, opportunities for service, and inspiration for daily living.  We try to live and share the 'abundant life' which Jesus came to bring.

Our parish includes St Julian's Church, which houses the site of the cell in which dwelt the Lady Julian of Norwich, anchoress and visionary, who lived here for many years from the 1390s.  Her Revelations of Divine Love, the earliest surviving book written in English by a woman, has become a spiritual classic known and loved by millions.

Under normal circumstances, both churches are open all day, every day for prayer, quiet and visiting, and for daily worship.  We welcome you to come in at any time to find peace, stillness, encouragement and joy in God's presence.  We celebrate the Eucharist every day and always welcome you to join us.

We are glad to pray for you.  Requests for prayer can be left at both churches, and also submitted via this website.

A warm welcome awaits you.  Come and join us.

We are delighted that St John's Timberhill and St Julian's King Street are both open again for public worship and for private prayer, quiet and visiting.  Public health precautions are in place.  We warmly invite you to come to pray, enjoy the peace of the building, light a candle and rest in the Lord's presence.

St John's is open from 10.30am to around 4pm from Tuesday to Saturday, for worship on Sunday, and is closed on Monday.

St Julian's is open from 10.30am to around 4pm every day.

During the summer the following services will be celebrated on Sundays:

9am Low Mass at St Julian's King Street

11am Organ Mass (Mass with French organ music) at St John's Timberhill

6pm Low Mass and Benediction at St John's Timberhill

The Eucharist is celebrated every day of the week: click here to see the times.  You are very welcome at any of our acts of worship.

We continue to pray for God's blessing on our parish, community and city, the wellbeing and prosperity of all our shops and businesses, the safety of all keyworkers, the healing of the sick and suffering and peace for the departed.  We are praying for you, too.  May God bless and keep you.
